  1. Hotels, Restaurants:
    • The Bordeaux area is worthwhile visiting: you will find typical places for all budgets: lovely places, places where you could stay while touring the wine area, and of course the seaside.

  2. Natural Park:
    • The Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park :
      • The Eco-musée de Marquèze is a reconstitution of what was a small village in the Landes area before Napoléon III decided the plantation of maritime pines. It is now, the largest forest of Europe. This park is 1.5 hour drive south from Bordeaux; take the motorway A-63 direction BAYONNE, for 52km; when you reach Saugnacq et Muret, take the Exit 19, direction MONT DE MARSAN, follow the road N-134 through Moustey, Pissos, Trensacq until you reach the small village of SABRES. The park is clearly indicated from there. To get into the park, you will have to leave your car on a parking area, and take a lovely old train, the only mechanical system allowed in this park.
    • Parc ornothologique du Teich:
      • Lovely Bird Watching place, located near Le Teich, direction Arcachon; this park is about 45 minutes drive from Bordeaux (44km); take the motorway A-63 then A-66 then the road N-250 to Arcachon, the Exit to the park is clearly indicated (on the right).

  3. Park attractions:

      • Poitiers is one hour by train from Bordeaux, and two hours from Paris; a bus takes you from the railway station to the Futuroscope for about 50 French Francs. If you come by plane, a taxi can get you there for about 100 French Francs. If you come by car on the motorway A-10, get the Exit 28, and follow the signposts.
    • Walibi : (water games)
      • Located in Roquefort, near Agen, this Walibi park is about one hour drive from Bordeaux; take the motorway A-62 to Toulouse, and the Exit 7. The road to the park is clearly marked on the D-931 and then the D-656.
    • Aqualand : (water games)
      • Located in Gujan Mestras, near Arcachon, this Aqualand park is about 45 minutes drive from Bordeaux (46km); take the motorway A-63 then A-66 then the road N-250 to Arcachon, the Exit to Aqualand is indicated. The road to the park is then clearly marked.

  4. Wine Châteaux:
    • You are in Bordeaux for one day ot more, and you wish to visit various Wine Chateaux in
      • Médoc,
      • Saint Emilion,
      • Graves,
      • Sauternes ....
